5 things to cut out to save time and be happy.

For a lot of us, 24 hours in a day is barely enough. And we don’t just mean in terms of getting your to-do list cleared off. Making time for your personal happiness will make life all the more worth living.

What’s more, it doesn’t take some kind of drastic, life changing event to choose to focus on what is important in life. You can choose to make your own changes that will help you focus on what is most important to you, which includes considering cutting out a few things:

1. Negative thinking

Sometimes it’s hard to keep up a positive attitude in the face of your hardships, but keeping your chin up will help make things easier. Just because you’re struggling, doesn’t mean you’re failing. Your reward will be getting through your rough patches, and becoming a stronger person for it.

Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. A burden shared is a burden lifted.

2. Unnecessary drama

Be wise enough to walk away from situations that aren’t worth your time and attention.Sometimes, you don’t need to take responsibility for the actions of those around you. Being able to identify when a situation is beyond your control will help unburden you of unnecessary guilt, increasing your overall happiness and saving your time for more important things.

3. Comparing yourself to others

We’re in the age of social media and the Insta-famous, so this can be especially difficult. But you should realise that there will always be someone who is richer/prettier/more glamorous than you. While it’s good to be ambitious, you should aim more to be the best version of yourself, rather than trying to copy other people.

Don’t let advertisements tell you how you should be! Learning to be happy as you are will definitely save you a lot of time, money and effort.

4. Following a life path that doesn’t feel right.

It’s not always practical to follow your dreams. Sometimes other things have to take priority, like earning a living and providing for your family. But you also shouldn’t spend your life doing something that makes you miserable — that’s a surefire path to depression and burnout.

Follow your dreams if you can, and if you can’t, at least aim to be content in your life path. And don’t forget, you can find support and advice whenever you’re feeling afraid or unsure.

5. Worrying about past mistakes

Learn to forgive yourself and move on. After all, you’re only human. Lingering over the past won’t do anything to change it, and will instead hinder your future.

Your time and energy is better focused on the present. Be kind whenever you can, especially to yourself! Don’t beat yourself up over little missteps. Learn from your mistakes instead, and use them as a platform to further your self-growth.

It’s also important to have enough time to unwind and de-stress. Don’t spend your precious weekends at the workshop, when we’ve got the perfect solution to save your time.
